Correction and Retraction
Jurnal Pedagogi is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record in educational sciences and pedagogical research. The journal adheres strictly to the publication ethics principles outlined in the COPE Core Practices, particularly those concerning post-publication discussions, corrections, and retractions.
1. Correction
Jurnal Pedagogi may publish a formal correction (Erratum or Corrigendum) when an unintended error is identified in a published article that affects its factual accuracy, pedagogical clarity, or technical presentation, but does not invalidate its overarching findings, instructional analyses, or conclusions. Such errors may be reported by authors, educators, researchers, or readers. The editorial team will evaluate each case impartially and may consult the original authors or independent educational experts, following the principles outlined in COPE's publication ethics guidance.
An approved correction will be published as a distinct notice that clearly identifies the affected article, details the specific correction, and provides a direct link to the original publication. The notice will remain freely accessible to readers to ensure transparency and preserve the integrity of the pedagogical scholarly record, consistent with the COPE Core Practices.
2. Retraction
Jurnal Pedagogi may retract a published article when clear, reliable evidence indicates that its findings are fundamentally flawed, unreplicable, or that serious publication ethics violations have occurred. Grounds for retraction include plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of educational data (such as simulated classroom metrics, falsified assessment scores, or fabricated observational findings), duplicate or redundant publication, failure to disclose major competing interests, unethical research practices involving human participants (such as students, teachers, or minors without appropriate ethics approval and consent), or other misconduct compromising the validity of the work. Such cases are evaluated in accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board following a rigorous and impartial assessment of the available evidence. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised. Where necessary, the journal may seek clarification or corroborating information from the authors' affiliated university, faculty ethics board, or institutional research integrity office.
A formal retraction notice will clearly identify the title, authors, and issue of the article, state the specific reasons for the retraction, and provide a direct link to the original publication. In alignment with international digital archiving standards and COPE Core Practices, the original article will remain accessible in the journal's repository to preserve the historical record, but it will be prominently watermarked and marked as retracted.
3. Withdrawal
Authors who wish to withdraw an educational manuscript prior to formal publication must submit a formal written request signed by all co-authors to the Jurnal Pedagogi editorial office, explaining the pedagogical, technical, or personal rationale for the withdrawal. The editorial team will examine the request, verify its validity, and provide formal confirmation of the manuscript's status.
Authors must not submit the manuscript to another journal while it is actively under evaluation, review, or revision at Jurnal Pedagogi. Formal confirmation of withdrawal from the editorial office is strictly required before the work may be submitted elsewhere. If the withdrawal request is prompted by an unresolved authorship dispute, suspected data manipulation, or other publication ethics inquiries, the journal reserves the right to suspend the withdrawal process while the matter is thoroughly investigated under relevant COPE Flowcharts.
Once an article has been formally published online (either as an advance online article or as part of a scheduled issue), it enters the permanent scientific record and cannot be routinely withdrawn. Post-publication concerns must instead be addressed through formal correction or retraction procedures, consistent with the principles described in the COPE Core Practices.
4. Editorial Responsibility
All editorial decisions concerning corrections, retractions, and manuscript withdrawals are executed objectively, consistently, and transparently. Jurnal Pedagogi evaluates all available empirical evidence, grants all parties a fair opportunity to address concerns, and maintains comprehensive records of all editorial inquiries, correspondences, and outcomes. These practices uphold institutional accountability and safeguard the reliability of educational and pedagogical research as championed by the COPE Core Practices.
Jurnal Pedagogi will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retraction notices whenever necessary to keep the academic community informed of significant changes regarding the validity or status of published works. All notices will be linked bi-directionally to their respective articles to ensure full transparency for educators, researchers, and indexing databases.
