Abstract

This research aims to develop a Project-Based Learning based Gas Metal Arc Welding phase F textbook to be used in learning activities. The development of this textbook is based on the need for relevant teaching materials, especially for the concentration of welding engineering expertise. This research uses the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) developed by Thiagarajan and Semmel. The research stages include defining product needs and specifications (define), designing textbooks (design), developing and validating products (develop), and disseminating revised textbooks based on trial results (disseminate). The results of this study indicate that the textbooks developed are valid and feasible to use in the learning process. The average score obtained from the feasibility test by the material expert validator is 85% with a decent category and the average score of the learner's response obtained is 76.3% with a good category.
